The 7 ZONES business philosophy goes beyond supporting craftsmen. It researches and introduces endangered ancient crafts in the international market. These crafts are disappearing because of the dramatic shifts of populations from the rural to urban areas. The craftsmanship is traditionally passed from father to son. Faced with a challenge from the mass-produced goods, it is becoming increasingly difficult to earn a livelihood practicing these crafts. The encroachment of mass-production technologies are rendering hand-crafted goods valueless for buyers and unprofitable for the artisans to produce.

7 ZONES is the brain-child of Elham Eshraghi, a trained architect who was moved by the beautiful artwork of tribal regions of Iran to preserve them. 7 ZONES helps the craftsmen by offering them fair-trade terms and keeping our own profit margins low. We believe it is the best way to encourage people to support the endangered crafts.
